Hello, my name is Rachel and I am a certified English teacher from the US. I have a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Chinese Arts and Culture as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, with a strong foundation in music performance and visual arts. I am currently teaching the IBPYP curriculum at a renowned international kindergarten. I specialize in early years teaching focusing on inquiry-based and play-based learning. I also have experience teaching advanced reading and writing skills as well as phonics and language arts. For early years, I promote play as the best way to learn language skills, such as phonics, vocabulary, and reading. For middle and diploma years, I help students to develop critical thinking and research skills, so they are able to analyse works of literature and express their own ideas using evidence and effective communication.
