Hello! My name is Roxy and two of my favourite things are languages and learning with my students. I have been an ESL instructor for 2 years and my goal is to make English as relevant and as interesting to you as possible. I try to achieve this by keeping the subjects in line with your own interests and unique abilities, and through this, we learn together.
As well as English I am experienced in foreign language acquisition and French translation having studied this throughout the university, and I have grown up bilingual with Afrikaans.
I take great care with my student's progress as I am a compassionate and hard-working individual with a creative vision. I structure my lessons based on a need's analysis for each student so that your lesson can be tailored and fruitful to you.
Based in Cape Town, I am available for online and in-person lessons. Should you need guidance or instruction with English / French / Afrikaans language and literature I am here to help! Read less

Being in a classroom has taught me great inter-personal skills; I am intuitive and can personalize topics. Once the material is personalized I believe it is easier for students to understand and have effective learning from then on. Each student has different learning styles so it is necessary to interchange my methods. This varies between didactic teaching (engagement; instruction/framework then practice) and a learner discovery approach (practice; engage then instruct). I encourage progress. Read less
